About Melanie

Melanie Tipples trained in London at Charing Cross Hospital, graduating in 1992. She trained in surgery at St Thomas’ Hospital and in gynaecology on a North West Thames rotation spending time at St Mary’s Hospital Paddington and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith. Melanie obtained her FRCSED in 1996 and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1998. She has been working at St Richards Hospital in Chichester and at the Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital since 2007.

At St Richard’s hospital she is the Gynaecological Cancer Unit Lead, Colposcopy lead, Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecological Lead, and Gynaecological Ultrasound Lead. Aside of her clinical interests she is responsible for Education of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Training within Western Sussex Trust as well as the Training Programme Director for Kent Surrey and Sussex Obstetric and Gynaecology Trainees.

Melanie advised and supported the creating of the Women's Health and Wellbeing Suite at the Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital. The suite was built to allow ladies to be seen in a private dedicated area and has the facilities for patients to be examined, undergo ultrasound and colposcopy and minor surgical procedures. Melanie has sub-specialist training and qualifications in colposcopy, vulvoscopy, and ultrasound. She is skilled in both open and endoscopic surgery. She has a general interest in women’s health and offers Well Women checks as well as screening.

As a mother of four children and working full time Melanie understands the need for women to be able to address their health needs alongside their many other commitments. Hence her goal where possible is to address as many of your problems in her one stop clinic approach.

Why go private?

This is a very personal choice. I believe it allows you to be seen by the Consultant of your choice at a time of your choosing in a dedicated gynaecology suite supported by specialist nurses. The appointment times are generous allowing you time to discuss your problem. It is always possible to see you quicker than in the NHS.

If you require surgery you will receive consultant delivered care at all times and have the opportunity to recover in a private room. We are happy to put together package prices for self funding procedures.
